14 days in Italy
In the summer of 1988 I managed to persuade Sonia to take on holiday to Italy. We had a couple of years previously in Riva on the bus ride with Gislev Cars, therefore tried "we" to convince Sonja about to repeat the trip just in our own car. She went with us. It was perhaps as much to Anita at the time was just over 1 ½ years old and Louise just turned 8 years. Therefore, we went 4 off together to Italy.
Through the United Danish Motorists we rented an apartment in Riva on Lake Garda for 2 weeks. Sonja had never tried it before driving that far by car, hence requiring Sonja minimum of 2 nights on the way down through West Germany. First night was at the old court at Kassel Kassel. After overnight stay at Kassel, we continued down to Bavaria and the city of Mittenwald in southern Germany, close to the Austrian border and stayed here.
We started back home on Thursday to land on Lake Garda on Saturday afternoon at 14:00 o'clock to take over the holiday apartment. Our own planning integrated well enough, but the Italians rushed it is not so much the supply of the apartment. After an hour, there was finally something and we got the key provided.
For excursions in the fourteen days made a "lake around" (all the way) and a trip to Verona and perhaps the wildest I've ever done in a vacation - Louise and I drove to Pisa to see the leaning tower, nearly 1000 km in one day.
The rest of the time we spent at the pool, where Anita Louise and the frolicking. Otherwise, they were passed many trips up the Riva town and along the lake.
Verona is a really nice city to visit. In 1988, there were too many tourists, but no more than was possible to find parking on the east side of the river Adige at one of the many churches and close to a bridge that led directly into the old part of Verona.
One of the sights we obviously had to see was Arena'en.
One is a fantastic old building has kept all these years. We did not get into the actual arena'en, it was closed just at the period we were in Verona.
But just walk around arena'en is in itself a beautiful ride.

14 dage i Italien
